Roberto Faria graduates to BRDC British Formula 3 with Fortec Motorsport
- Brazilian rising star moves into British Formula 3 with Daventry-based team.

Fortec Motorsport are pleased to confirm Roberto Faria will graduate to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Faria, an established front-runner in British Formula 4 this year, will contest all four remaining events on the series’ amended 2020 calendar, starting this weekend at Donington Park [19-20 September] as the Brazilian looks to accelerate his plans to move into the category.
It marks an exciting new chapter in Faria’s journey with the Daventry-based team, with whom he made his single-seater debut back in F4 in 2019, bagging an impressive 21 Rookie Cup podiums en route to third in the class standings.
Faria’s impressive form to-date in 2020 – two overall podiums, his first pole position and consistent front-running performances – along with a positive test in the British F3 car have brought his plans to move up to the next level ahead of schedule.
And Fortec’s proven record in the series makes it the ideal partnership; Richard Dutton’s outfit have 16 race victories, 35 podium finishes and 11 pole positions to their record since the series’ inception as British F3 in 2016, putting them among the most successful teams on the grid.
Faria’s F3 career will begin with two days of testing on 17-18 September, before qualifying and the opening race on Saturday, at 10:50 and 14:55 respectively.
Another double header on Sunday rounds out the action in Leicestershire, with the races set to start at 10:35 and 16:05. Live coverage is available across British F3’s platforms on social media.
