Fortec Motorsports is set to kick off its 2024 campaign with a trip to Oulton Park this Easter weekend (March 30-April 1), for the opening rounds of the GB3 and GB4 Championships.
In GB3, 16-year-old podium finisher Edward Pearson returns for a second season, having secured third place at the Cheshire venue last year and was thwarted in his attempts at a maiden victory after a Safety Car intervention at the final round.
He will be joined by series debutant Colin Queen, who steps up from GB4 this time out. The 18-year-old American scored podiums in half of last year’s races with Fortec Motorsports, just his first season racing with slicks and wings.
On the other side of the awning, the team will welcome another returning face in Dan Hickey, who made his GB4 Championship debut at the end of 2023, claiming a 10th place finish after an extensive testing and development programme.
Australian teenager Jack Taylor is set to make his British racing debut, having raced in the F4 Indian Championship during last year. He was also selected by Motorsport Australia to take part in the Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific and Oceania shootout at Sepang in Malaysia, narrowly missing out on a final six spot.
Last, but by no means least, Linus Granfors will line up on the grid at Oulton Park, making his international single seater debut as he follows in the footsteps of brother Joel, who finished runner up in the 2022 GB3 Championship with Fortec Motorsports. The 16-year-old has titles in Aquila Formula 1000 and Formula Nordic – and finished second in the all-electric NXT Gen Cup in 2023.
After test sessions on Thursday and Friday, March 28 & 29, both championships will have their first official sessions with qualifying and the opening races on Saturday, March 30. Following an off day on Easter Sunday, action resumes with two more contests for each series on Monday April 1, with all six races shown live on the MSV TV YouTube channel.
Oliver Dutton, Team Principal
“We’re well-prepared for the upcoming races at Oulton Park and are optimistic about the season ahead. With our drivers having plenty of potential for development this season, we are looking forward to a competitive campaign. While our goal is to compete at the front of the grid right from the start, we understand the importance of taking each race as it comes and keeping our focus on the ultimate rewards at the end of the season.”
