Fortec Motorsport look to build on a strong start to their 2022 GB4 Championship partnered by BRDC campaign over the Easter weekend (16-18 April) as the series heads to Oulton Park for the second meeting of the season.
The Daventry-based team made a lightning start to life in the new-for-2022 GB4 Championship two weekends ago at Snetterton, with Anglo-Malaysian teenager Nikolas Taylor shining brightly on his debut to claim pole position and the first win of the year in Norfolk.
Swedish youngster Elias Adestam added further celebration for Richard Dutton’s outfit later in the weekend by charging to a maiden podium finish in the final race, backing up a strong debut himself after showing frontrunning pace for much of the first week of his UK racing tenure.
Fortec’s third charge, Jessica Edgar, showed further improvements during the opening meeting and will hope to compete for her first silverware of the season in the second outing of the year at Oulton Park, having started on pole position in the last contest at Snetterton.
Easter weekend plays host to three more GB4 races around the 2.69-mile international circuit of Oulton Park in Cheshire, preceded by two days of testing.
Qualifying gets underway on Saturday with a short and sharp 15-minute timed session to decide the grid at 9:00 for the opening race of the day, with race one getting underway later that afternoon at 13:35. Attention then switches to Monday, with race two starting from 10:05 and the final reverse grid race taking place at 14:15.

“As a team we felt we made a great start to the GB4 season, so heading to Oulton Park we know what we can build on and where we can improve. The drivers are still learning and that first meeting was very much a new experience for all three drivers, so now they have had that early experience of a race weekend, they can push on and try and extract more. All three have the potential to do very well once more this weekend, so we’ll go into it with optimism that we can hopefully come away with some good points and fight for victories and podiums once more.”

“I am very optimistic heading into Oulton. In the pre-season test I was the fastest GB4 car on track. In addition the track is very similar to Swedish circuits so I feel right at home. The goal as always is to win at least one race, so that’ll be my aim for the weekend.”

“My first race was a great experience, even though the pace and the results weren’t what we would have liked. Good improvements were made throughout the weekend. I’m looking forward to Round Two at Oulton Park. Lots has been learned from testing there, so I’m hoping to keep improving this weekend.”

“I think it will be a strong weekend for the team. Oulton Park is a hard place to come to and race for the first time but I’m confident. The team has given us an amazing and fast car so far so thanks to them we have been able to get the most out of it. I’m just looking to secure some good points as Oulton isn’t one of my strongest tracks, but Thursday and Friday’s testing will give us a good indication of where we’re at.”
