Fortec Motorsport’s defence of the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost crown reaches a conclusion this weekend (23-24 October) at Brands Hatch.
The Daventry-based outfit head to the legendary 2.4-mile Grand Prix configuration of the Kent venue with an outside chance at retaining the honours, with Joel Granfors 68 points shy of the championship summit with a maximum score of 84 available across the triple header.
Granfors was amongst the front-runners during Friday testing, finishing both sessions as the second-quickest driver out on circuit, fuelling optimism for the weekend ahead.
The team also welcomes back Oliver Gray to the fold for the season finale, boosting the team’s hopes of a late charge into top spot in the Teams Cup, the deficit to the leader currently 30 markers.
Gray also holds the upper hand in the race to secure a top-three spot in the Rookie Cup, the Brit currently three points clear of nearest rival Askey heading into the weekend.
Qualifying marks the start of competitive action at 11:00 (BST) on Saturday morning, with two races to follow at 13:45 and 16:50 respectively.
The second of those will be streamed live on itv.com/btcc, with one further, ITV4-televised contest to follow at 13:20 on Sunday to bring down the curtain on another action-packed domestic campaign.

“It’s only an outside chance, but we head to Brands Hatch this weekend ready to keep up the fight until it’s mathematically no longer possible.
“It’s been a rollercoaster season and the priority for us to finish the campaign on a positive note for both Joel and Ollie.
“Brands Hatch has been a good circuit for us in the past, and I’m sure it will prove to be again.”
Joel Granfors (#5) said:
“I’m in a pretty simple position this weekend; I’ve got nothing to lose.
“Top three in the championship would be fantastic, and it’s a clear aim for the weekend. If we do well, it’s definitely possible.
“If we don’t, at least we haven’t lost anything. All I can do is go out there and drive as fast as I can, which is quite a nice place to be in, actually.”
Oliver Gray (#63) said:
“I’m looking forward to racing at Brands Hatch again this weekend, but this time experiencing the historic GP layout.
“It’s good to be back with the team at Fortec Motorsport after a round away; hopefully we can end the season on a positive note and go into the winter with some momentum.”
