Fortec Motorsport has confirmed a return to the ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA grid for the final two events at Silverstone and Brands Hatch in preparation for a full campaign in 2023.

Having committed to the second-generation era of Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series with the championship’s brand-new Tatuus T-421 machine, the Daventry-based squad have subsequently conducted a thorough testing programme to get to grips with the series’ new combination of a Tatuus chassis, Abarth engines and Pirelli tyres.

Richard Dutton’s experienced outfit will make their competitive return at the penultimate event of the season at Silverstone on 23-25 September, followed up by a second outing at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit a fortnight later on 7-9 October alongside the British Touring Car Championship.

With over 30 wins to their name in British F4 over the years, Fortec Motorsport are no strangers to success, having recently claimed the title with GB3 frontrunner Luke Browning and brought 2021 race winner Joel Granfors to the fore on his GB3 graduation.

Looking to gain experience with the newest machine in preparation for next season, Fortec will be again looking to support the development of rising stars in single-seater racing in a trend that the outfit has maintained within its core values.

Details on the team’s driver plans will be announced in due course.

Oliver Dutton – Team Manager: “Everybody at Fortec Motorsport is very excited to be returning to ROKiT British F4. We made no secret of our intentions to continue competing in the series last autumn. Driver development is a key philosophy of our team, so to race on the FIA single seater ladder, with a car and a package designed to help bring drivers on, is a ‘must’ for us.

“Our approach to the last two rounds is very much with one eye on the future. For us, it’s the beginning of our 2023 programme. It’s a championship we’ve been very successful in previously, and we’re certainly not here to make up the numbers in the background.”
