Fortec Motorsport make the return trip to Norfolk for the fifth meeting of the 2022 GB4 Championship partnered by BRDC this weekend (25/26 June) looking for more success at the Snetterton 300 circuit.
The Daventry squad’s GB4 chargers head to the 2.9-mile circuit for a second time this season, Nikolas Taylor now leading the championship after two strong meetings in succession that has seen him collect three wins from the last six races to open up a 12-point cushion at the head of the standings.
Snetterton also holds good memories for the Anglo-Malaysian teenager from as recently as when the series last visited back in April, Taylor taking his first win for Fortec Motorsport in the opening race from pole position – the first of what is now a total of four victories for the FIA F4 Development driver.
Jessica Edgar continues her learning experience in her rookie campaign in single-seaters, the Cumbrian taking her karting successes to the circuits which has already included an impressive podium finish at Oulton Park. A return to the front of the pack is firmly on her agenda once more, after displaying a fighting performance in the final race at Donington Park where she ran inside the top five in the initial stages.
The experienced squad enter the fifth meeting with their eyes focused on also recovering their lead in the Teams’ Championship, Fortec Motorsport sitting well within striking distance in second spot and just nine points adrift of the top of the table.
The latest weekend will again feature three races, starting with two days of testing leading up to the all-important qualifying session on Saturday morning at 11:40. Race one gets underway at 15:40 later that afternoon, with Sunday’s final two sprints kicking off at 12:35 and 15:00 respectively – including a reverse grid contest to finish the weekend.

“Going to Snetterton, we’ve got the luxury of having visited the circuit already this season with the new GB4 cars where we enjoyed early success. We’ll have data to fall back on and the drivers have now got some experience to push them on to get results. Nikolas is in fantastic form and we want to keep harnessing that momentum, while Jessica has her sights set on the top five and now has some vital knowledge to use from the initial visit. We’ll go there with our heads held high and hope for a good points haul, and hopefully some more silverware.”

“Going back to Snetterton, I’m feeling more confident as I know the track better, so I’m really looking forward to it. Fortec has helped me massively with the transition from karting to cars and I think the improvements will show when we get back to Snetterton. We’ll look to find more pace throughout the weekend to try and get some good results.”

“It’s nice to be going into the weekend leading the championship. I think we’ve shown we have the pace and last time we came to Snetterton it was a really good weekend. We got pole and a win then, and lately we’ve been on a good run so I hope to keep that going and keep pushing.”
