Thai-American teenager Carl Bennett will join the Fortec Motorsport line-up for the final three races of the 2022 GB4 Championship at Donington Park on 15/16 October in the team’s bid for double title success.
The 17-year-old will bolster the Fortec Motorsport outfit to a three-car entry once more ahead of the GB4 season finale, joining regular drivers Jessica Edgar and Nikolas Taylor.
Bennett is currently in his first year of single-seater racing having started in the YACademy Winter Series in February, soon becoming a consistent top-10 contender across events at Sebring and Homestead-Miami Speedway before progressing to the Formula 4 United States Championship where he has since claimed seven top-10 finishes from 12 races so far.
Prior to his car racing graduation at the start of the year, Bennett’s experience was as a karting star in Asia, taking multiple wins and championship titles and plying his trade in events such as Rotax Max Thailand, IAME Asia Cup and the IAME International Final.
The addition of Bennett will add further firepower to the Daventry squad’s ultimate aim of clinching both the Drivers and Teams Championships in the series’ maiden year, Taylor currently leading the way in the former with Fortec Motorsport sit third in the Teams’ table with just a 20-point deficit to overturn.
