- Fortec Motorsport ready for second British F4 meeting
- James Higgins hoping to challenge frontrunners after exciting debut
- Marcos Flack returns for second event at Brands Hatch finale
Fortec Motorsport head to Brands Hatch GP circuit for their second ROKiT British F4 Championship meeting of the year with a two-car assault for the season finale this weekend (8/9 October).
The Daventry squad made their long-awaited return to the championship at the most recent round of the season at Silverstone, and came away with a top-10 finish for their efforts on a battling weekend.
With a comprehensive testing programme under their belts with the championship’s latest package and additional knowledge from three races to fall back on, rookie James Higgins and former British F4 racer Marcos Flack return to front the team for the final three races at Brands Hatch GP circuit.
Experienced karting star and Ginetta racer Higgins hopes that testing with the squad recently at the Kent venue will stand him in good stead for his second outing, after narrowly missing out on the top 10 in a tight qualifying session at Silverstone.
GB3 race winner Flack meanwhile bagged Fortec Motorsport’s best result of the weekend with two top-10 showings, although his seventh place in race two was later pushed back by a track limits penalty after a superb fightback.
Three races will be held across the weekend at Brands Hatch, with the second contest featuring a reversed top 10 grid from qualifying, which kicks off the event at 11:35 with race one at 16:25 later that day. Races two and three take place at 10:00 and 15:10 on Sunday.
The final race is broadcast live on ITV4, with live timing and commentary otherwise available at TSL Timing all weekend. Keep up to date through Fortec Motorsport’s Social media channels.
Oilver Dutton – Team Manager:
“We’re going into the final round hoping to challenge the frontrunners, and we’ve got testing miles already under our belts to show for ourselves which we hope gets us hitting the ground running. Both drivers are keen and ready to get stuck in, and it’ll be more important information ahead of next season.”
#9 Marcos Flack:
“We didn’t quite get the results we wanted at Silverstone but now we come to Brands Hatch with a new opportunity and I’m certain we’ll come out stronger and in the mix.”
#18 James Higgins:
“Silverstone didn’t quite play out how I wanted it to, but I’ve got a good team around me and there were plenty of positives to take into this weekend. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully we can get some good results.”
