Fortec Motorsport have added Marcos Flack to its driver line-up for this weekend’s ROKiT British F4 Championship certified by FIA meeting at Silverstone (23-25 September).
Australian teenager Flack will partner James Higgins in a second Fortec Motorsport-run Tatuus machine for the coming visit to the Northampton circuit, having raced in the championship last season.
Flack earned himself podium finishes at Snetterton, Croft and Silverstone during his full-season assault last year, and has since raced in the GB3 Championship this season and claimed a maiden victory at the same Silverstone circuit earlier this summer.
The 16-year-old has also made appearances across the pond in the Indy Pro 2000 series and out on the continent in Italian, Spanish and German F4. With experience on his side, Flack will aid Fortec Motorsport in gathering knowledge of the latest chassis, engine and tyre package this weekend ahead of the team’s planned full-time presence on the British F4 grid in 2023.
Fortec Motorsport kick off their British F4 return this weekend at Silverstone’s National circuit, with qualifying taking place at 10:55 on Saturday before the first of three races at 15:50, followed by Sunday’s contests at 9:35 and 15:05. Race three will be shown live on ITV4.
Marcos Flack: “I’m looking forward to being back in ROKiT British F4, and to partner up with Fortec Motorsport. It’s a championship that I learnt a lot in last season, and I’ve got experience with the new Gen-2 car from racing in Italy and Germany this year. Fortec are a great team, and I’ve always run well at Silverstone, so the ingredients are there for us to have a good weekend.”
Oliver Dutton – Team Manager: “Marcos is a talented driver, and already a proven quantity at both this level, and the level above. So, we’ve no concerns he will be able to extract the most from the car. It’s also important for James’ development to have an experienced driver in alongside him, and Marcos’ experience will be equally valuable to our team at the track as we begin our programme for next year. We’re looking forward to working with him, and to be back out racing in F4 this weekend.”
