- British F4 podium finisher joins Fortec for GB3 Championship debut.
- 15-year-old from The Philippines evaluating options ahead of graduation to F3 level.
- Coseteng joins new team-mates Faria and Grundtvig; Daventry team aim to end season on a high.
Fortec Motorsport is pleased to announce Eduardo Coseteng will join the team for the GB3 Championship season finale at Donington Park this weekend (16-17 October).
The Daventry-based team have enjoyed another vintage season in the UK’s premier single-seater series, including four race victories and a further 14 podium finishes across the 21 races held thus far.
It therefore made Coseteng the logical choice as the Filipino racer evaluates his options for the future, having enjoyed a solid start to his single seater career in British Formula 4 this season.
In addition to two Rookie victories, Coseteng scored his maiden podium in Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series last weekend at the same circuit on which the 17-year-old will make his GB3 debut, as well as consistent, points-scoring form all season long.
He joins new team-mates Roberto Faria and Mikkel Grundtvig as Richard Dutton’s outfit aim to end the campaign on a high, including a bid to retain a top-three spot in the inaugural Teams’ Championship.
“I want to start by saying a massive thank you to Fortec Motorsport, as well as my sponsors Petron and Autoplus for this amazing opportunity,” said Coseteng.
“I’m feeling really excited to try something new, and to seeing what I’m capable of in the GB3 car.
“It’s a very competitive series, and I’m coming up against opposition with far more mileage in these cars, so there’s no expectations; I can go out, enjoy my racing and continue gathering experience to help inform my future.”
Team Manager Oliver Dutton welcomed Coseteng to the fold, his outfit being no stranger to the rising star through his British F4 programme.
“We’ve monitored Eduardo’s progress all season, albeit as his competition, and have been impressed, so it’s good to have an opportunity to work together,” he said.
“In Roberto and Mikkel, he has two good team-mates as a reference point for his first weekend in the series. There’s no expectation on him, this is just an exercise in getting some mileage in the car and getting a feel for what the championship is like.
“We look forward to seeing how he gets on and supporting him in that process.”
